General Motors Aftersales is offering MoT test insurance to owners of older Vauxhall, Saab or Chevrolets in order to get them back into the dealer network.

The policy covers customers against the cost of repair and replacement of parts that fall within the scope of the annual safety and roadworthiness test should the vehicle fail.

The insurance costs £75 a year and covers repairs up to a total value of £750.

Available at participating Vauxhall MasterFit Centres across the 400 strong network throughout the UK, plus participating Saab and Chevrolet retailers, the policy covers lighting, steering and suspension, brakes, fuel system, mirrors and seatbelts.

MoT Test Insurance includes most Vauxhall cars and all car-derived vans, plus Saab and Chevrolet/Daewoo cars up to eight years old having covered less than 80,000 miles.

The policy can be transferred if the car is sold on.
