MSX International, the global automotive services provider, has acquired the Japanese training operations of Carter and Carter Group for an undosclosed sum.

Peter Leger, MSXI president and chief executive officer, said: "This acquisition accelerates our expansion into the Japanese automotive market, and provides us with an immediate presence in this high-growth market.

"We plan to leverage this solid foundation and the close proximity to major OEMs to drive further profitable growth in Japan and throughout Asia-Pacific."

A small team of automotive experts based in Tokyo, Japan is now a part of MSXI's Integrated Business Solutions team. The group reports to Phil Ramsden, managing director of Asia-Pacific for MSXI, who is based in the company's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.

MSXI provides training services to automotive manufacturers and dealers globally. These include developing and conducting technical training programs, creating and publishing technical bulletins, diagnosis guides, and service alerts.
