Daimler is in talks with Chrysler's owners to offload its remaining 19.9% shareholding in the carmaker.

The Associated Press agency reports that Chrysler owner Cerberus Capital Management approached Daimler and says that if the deal goes through all existing industrial relationships with Daimler would continue.

Cerberus bought 80.1% of Chrysler from Daimler in August 2007.

Analysts suggest that Cerberus may want to buy the full shareholding to make Chrysler easier to sell on, or there might be a clause in the 2007 which forces Cerberus to buy under certain conditions.
