The company had revealed a concept design last week, but production ready photos have now been published.

The ix20 is the second European model after the ix35 to adopt Hyundai’s new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language.

Hyundai is expecting the ix20 to attract young families with a combination of fuel economy and low CO2 emissions; safety and the company’s five year warranty.

The ix20 will be joined at the Paris Motor Show on September 30 by the facelifted version of Hyundai’s i10 city car.

The new i10 features visual and mechanical improvements, including a new 1.0-litre engine with CO2 emissions of 99g/km. The new version of the i10 will go on sale early in 2011.
