Former F1 world champion Nigel Mansell has set up a car dealership in Jersey with his son.

This month he is opening the business in a historic art deco building in Jersey's capital, St Helier, that will house the Mansell Collection, which includes his trophies and race-winning cars on the first floor.

On the ground floor his son, Leo Mansell, will help customers choose their next used car.

Mansell, who owned Ferrari and TVR dealerships in the 1990s before selling them to Westover Group, told the Daily Telegraph: "Whatever the budget the customer has, that’s an important budget to them, and to us. We are going to develop a more personal way of doing business. We are not looking at quantity, we are looking at quality and that makes a big difference in how you trade."

The business has already begun sourcing cars for people who spotted the website www.themansellcollection.co.uk and got in touch, and there will also be a hand-picked selection for sale in the showroom.
