Vertu Motors' chairman designate Peter Jones has increased his shareholding in the publicly listed car dealer group.

Jones bought 200,000 shares at 58p each yesterday, taking his shareholding in Vertu Motors up to 500,000, 0.15% of its total share capital.

At the start of 2015 Jones will become non-executive chairman of the group, which trades under Bristol Street, Macklin, Vertu and Farnell brands.

Current non-executive chairman Paul Williams has announced he will retire at the end of this year.
