Glyn Hopkin last month reached a major milestone for sales of pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

The dealer group, which operates across South East England, exceeded an all-time total of 2,000 registrations.

The figure coincides with a record for the UK as a whole, with the number of plug-in cars on the country’s roads now exceeding 100,000.

"Our dealerships are seeing ever-increasing demand for plug-in cars, as more people learn about the full benefits of driving pure electric and hybrid vehicles,” said Fraser Cohen, managing director of Glyn Hopkin.

Popular vehicles include the pure electric Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe, as well as the plug-in hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Sales of these plug-in cars have been gathering further momentum over recent months, and Glyn Hopkin expects to exceed 2,500 EV sales by early next year.
