CarMoney has launched its new CarFinder service to help buyers secure the car they want at the they price they want to pay.

The new service allows people who have applied for finance to send a text to CarMoney, stating what car they want and at what price, it said.

CarMoney said the new service represents a ‘significant’ step beyond similar services provided by competitors which go no further than directing prospective buyers to a classified sales site from which they can pick a vehicle.

Niall Cameron, sales director at CarMoney, said: “With hundreds of thousands of used cars for sale in the UK, it can be a lot of work to find the right one and with CarFinder we want to take the stress away and just send our customer a few perfect examples.

“So, people who have applied for finance can just text to tell us: “I want a Ford Focus for £200 per month”, or “I need a seven-seater for £200 per month”, or even, “I want a car the same as SK69 UAU”.

“To assist with the CarFinder process, we have a product genius in each of our sales teams as well as a CarMoney Electric Car Champion, to make sure that our guests get exactly what they want.”

CarMoney applies technology to help customers navigate their way through the car-buying process, including choosing a vehicle from a dealer and putting a finance package in place.

The number of UK car motor dealers working with CarMoney has increased by 30% in 2021, it said.

The company said it works with fintech businesses to help increase efficiencies and to provide guests and dealer partners a 'faster experience' when financing a car.

CarMoney, which secured £982m of approved car finance in the last 12 months, is divided into retail and dealer teams.

The retail team provides borrowers with a guaranteed funding package before they buy a car, CarMoney said, which puts them in the 'best position' to negotiate on price.

CarMoney appointed Rachel Elliot as its new Midlands regional sales manager as it targets expansion in the area.
