The largest Mercedes-Benz group in Scotland has returned to profit a year after reporting losses of nearly £65,000.

John R Weir finished the year to October 31, 2005, with pre-tax profits of £335,043 on a turnover of £104.76m.

The previous year saw the group turn in a loss of £64,957 on a turnover of £100m.

It’s a welcome turnaround for a group, which has outlets in Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Perth and Grangemouth.

Although Mercedes forms the core of the group, it also sells Dodge, Smart, ChryslerJeep and Subaru at some sites, and has a Honda motorcycle outlet in Perth.
