Subaru has finally added its Boxer diesel engine to its Impreza range.
The 2.0-litre 148bhp Boxer diesel can manage a manufacturer quoted 47.9mpg on the combined cycle and produces 155 g/km of carbon dioxide.
The new engine will accelerate the car from 0-62mph in nine seconds and will hit a top speed of 127mph.
Like the Forester Boxer Diesel, the Impreza comes with a new six-speed manual gearbox.
The Impreza 2.0D comes in a choice of two grades, RC and RX, priced at £20,000 and £22,255 respectively.
