The BBC is reporting that an extension to the UK's scrappage scheme will be announced at the Labour Party Conference this week.
Its news team cites no sources, but says it understands that Lord Mandelson will reveal the plan in his speech.
The SMMT, RMIF, CBI and other motoring and industry bodies have all called on the Government to continue scrappage initiatives after its £300m initial budget has been spent.
