Family-owned Swansway Group has built a new business on the exportation of German made car parts back to Germany – with over 1,750 parts shipped to the country in the past 12 months.

The entrepreneurial move to create the Swansway Parts Depot, a recent addition to the company’s headquarters at Gateway, Crewe has helped to achieve a turnover of £500,000 and a profit of just over £100,000.

Despite supplying genuine manufacturer parts and accessories made by Audi, Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Land Rover, Seat, Peugeot, Skoda and Honda, the biggest demand has been for VW parts in Germany.

Ben Conn, Swansway Parts Depot director, said: “The Parts Depot was implemented to provide our customers with approved parts and accessories for their motor vehicle, with demand continuing to grow for genuine quality parts. Despite economic austerity and looking to save money, people still want genuine parts for their motor vehicles.

“The current market reflects the automotive sector in general and we are delighted with the response our service has received in Germany – although it does feel slightly strange importing German goods back into Germany.”
