Mini launches Rolls-Royce inspired special edition

Mini is displaying its Mini Goodwood special edition model at Harrods.

The new model, priced from £41,005, takes inspiration from the design team at Rolls Royce Motor Cars and forms part of a specially created window display.

The dashboard, centre console, air vents, carpets, heated leather seats, roof lining, doors and interior cladding are all finished in Rolls-Royce colour Cornsilk. The dashboard and door handle surfaces are of Walnut Burr, a premium wood trim bespoke to Rolls-Royce.

The roof linings, sun visors and rear storage tray are all made of cashmere, with deep-pile lamb wool used to make the floor mats.

The exterior of the Mini Inspired by Goodwood is finished in the exclusive Rolls-Royce colour diamond black metallic, and the car rides on 17-inch light alloy multi-spoke wheels. It is only available in Mini hatch body style.

Standard equipment includes bi-xenon adaptive headlights, park distance control, automatic air conditioning, an onboard computer, Mini navigation and the Mini radio visual boost audio system, which includes a Harman Kardon hi-fi speaker system.

Inside Harrods, display screens provide information about the car, with a selection of swatches and samples of the interior trims used in the cabin.

A member of staff from Mini’s flagship Park Lane showroom will be on hand so customers can find out more or place an order.

Mini UK

Mini had its biggest ever market share in 2010 with a record 2.16% in the UK and the company put that growth down to new model launches and derivatives which they say keep driving the momentum forward.

The iconic brand will have a six-model range by Q1 2012 with the Hatch, Convertible, Clubman, Countryman, Coupe and Roadster.

Future development will include a UK-sourced three-cylinder mode while electric vehicle trials have proven a headline grabbing success.

Despite all this development, the power and popularity of the brand doesn't seem to have been diluted, with a recent index of internet search data, showing Mini was climbing through the charts as one of the most searched for brands in the UK.
