JCT600 opens new Ferrari site in Leeds

JCT600 has opened its new Ferrari dealership in Leeds marking a 30 year partnership with the Italian supercar manufacturer.

Ferrari’s new corporate identity was first introduced in 2010 and JCT600 Brooklands is the first dealership in the north east of England to represent the new CI of the brand.

David Clapham, brand director specialist cars at JCT600 Brooklands, said: “The Ferrari dealership has undergone an extensive refurbishment which has taken over six months to complete.

“The result is a landmark facility for our customers where they can view these beautiful cars in spacious, luxurious surroundings. It seems particularly fitting that we are celebrating the opening of these fantastic new premises in the same year we are marking the 30th anniversary of our relationship with Ferrari which remains a great flagship brand for JCT600 Brooklands and our customers.”

The new showroom features a new customer lounge, dedicated handover bay, and an “Atelier”. The Atelier is modelled on the one at the factory in Maranello, where customers can chose from a range of options to personalise their new Ferrari.

Matteo Torre, regional manager for Ferrari North Europe, said: “Ferrari’s new brand identity is designed to provide a welcoming environment for customers, who can relax and enjoy the purchase and ownership experience.

“Ferrari is committed to providing the highest level of customer care and we are delighted to see the newly renovated showroom opening here in Leeds as I know we have many enthusiastic clients in the area whose experience with the brand will be enhanced by the facilities we are opening here today.”

JCT600

2010 proved a record year for this proudly family, firmly Yorkshire based group.

It recorded the highest turnover in its 65 year history: £615 million from £498m the previous year. Profit before tax also increased to £12.3m.

It now believes 2011 will be another record year with sales to the end of August already more than 1,000 cars higher than over the same period in 2010.

The group, one of the largest privately owned independent motor groups in the UK, employs 1,350 staff at its 48 dealerships throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. JCT600 represents 22 franchises.

It also has a car supermarket brand PriceRight with its first solus site opening at Rawdon, near Bradford, at the end of 2010 with a stock of around 120 cars.

PriceRight has also been integrated into used car operations at a handful of low market share outlets, helping to establish these as all-makes used car specialists.

Current chief executive John Tordoff is grandson of Edward Tordoff who founded the business in 1946 and son of Jack Tordoff who ran the company for more than 44 years until he became chairman in 2002.

JCT600 takes its name from Jack Tordoff's Mercedes-Benz 600 personalised number plate.

Ferrari

The current Ferrari road range is based on three cars. The company chairman Luca di Montezemolo described them as three very different sports cars.

Prices, positioning, marketing - each is aimed precisely for what kind of ‘Ferrarista’ it wants to attract.

New model launch strategy continues with one new model a year, and variations on the existing range.
