Will Taylor, a sales executive at Sytner Mini in Slough, has turned his old car into scrap in support of the automotive industry charity, BEN.

Being a regular supporter of BEN, the 25 year old was aware of the national Scrap and Donate scheme it runs in conjunction with CharityCar.

On joining Sytner the former technician got a company car, so he no longer needed the Polo he bought as a cheap runaround three years ago.

Taylor commented: “The car was only worth scrap value and wouldn’t mean a lot to me financially, but I figured that £100 could get put into the pot at BEN and make a difference to someone’s life.”

Nigel Williams, BEN’s commercial development manager, added: “Will has demonstrated that the Scrap and Donate scheme really works and, importantly, appeals to all age groups.

“It is a quick, easy and environmentally friendly way to dispose of old, unwanted cars for the benefit of others.”
