Dealer group Arnold Clark has this afternoon been given the accolade of 'ultimate digital dealer' for its execution of digital marketing initiatives.

It also won the best use of social media and was judged best in SEO excellence at the annual Auto Trader Click Awards, held at BAFTA in Piccadilly, London.

Audi won the award for ultimate digital manufacturer' and Motorpoint as ultimate digital supermarket.

Sharon Randall, Auto Trader sales director, said: “We know the new consumer journey is increasingly online and the best manufacturers and retailers are those who have taken steps to fully exploit changing behavior among consumers. Our Click Award winners are blazing a trail for digital retailing in the auto sector.”

Among the franchised dealer groups, Benfield Motor Group took the best desktop title with Renault Retail Group winning the best mobile site accolade.

Other vehicle manufacturer winners were Kia Motors for best desktop site, Ford UK for SEO excellence, Volkswagen UK for best mobile site and Volvo Cars UK for the best use of social media.

The Car People picked up two awards among car supermarkets, taking the crown for best desktop and best mobile site, while Caralot won the best use of social media category.

The Click Awards are based on independent consumer research by HPI Research. More than 7,000 consumers were asked to give their opinions in a survey carried out in March.
