Pendragon is re-opening a former franchised site in Leicester as a used car business under its Motorhouse brand.

The Motorhouse store in Northgate Street will create 30 jobs.

It is on the site of Stratstone Triumph that closed in December. The new business is due to open next month, reports the Leicester Mercury.

Once opened, consumers will have access to over 20,000 used vehicles through Pendragon's new 'click and collect' online service, known as 'Move me closer'. This allows potential buyers to purchase vehicles anywhere in the country and then have them delivered to a local outlet.

The company launched the new online service last month.

Pendragon said Move Me Closer launches this month to enable the consumer to reserve a vehicle direct from their electronic device and choose to have it physically delivered to their nearest Evans Halshaw location for their viewing, on payment of a refundable £200 reservation fee.

Through this service, consumers can research and view online over 20,000 vehicles then inspect the vehicle they reserved at a physical location convenient to them, back by Evans Halshaw's five day price guarantee.

Its launch follows Pendragon's roll out last year of its Evans Halshaw Sell Your Car initiative which guarantees to pay more than rival Webuyanycar to customers wishing to dispose of their current vehicle.

The £1.5 million Stratstone Triumph showroom was opened in 2010.
