Volkswagen has launched a new tablet-based communications network as it aims to improve its communication with sales, aftersales, technical and head office teams.

The Volkswagen Hub uses responsive website and smartphone functionality to help head office, retailer and technical and field-based staff to reduce the time they spend searching for information.

The Hub – now live across the brand’s network – can be accessed via a laptop or desktop, as well as tablet devices and smartphones, and can be personalised depending on the user’s job role.

A rolling programme of development is planned for the Hub as users feedback their comments on the new tool. Alison Jones, director of Volkswagen UK, said: “Timely, flexible and efficient communication with everyone in our business is fundamental to our ongoing success here in the UK.

“The creation of such an easily accessible, convenient and simple means of keeping everyone updated, whether they’re in our head office, retailer network, technical or field teams, supports our ambition to make Volkswagen UK a class-leading mobility business.”

Tops on the Volkswagen Hub have been divided into three sections to promote its ease of use.

A ‘rolling news’ section contains the latest stories and information while ‘essential reading’ holds the most important announcements from the brand and ensures that key communications cannot be missed.

The ‘my stories’ function, meanwhile, allows users to customise their own Hub experience, thus ensuring they see all the information on the topics they follow day-to-day.
