Nathaniel Cars Bridgend has lent the Bridgend Business Forum an Outlander PHEV for a year.

The loan is so that its 625 members can experience the model for themselves.

Nathaniel Cars managing director Wayne Griffiths said: “The Outlander PHEV’s incredible statistics speak for themselves. It has an electric range of 32½ miles, emits just 44kg/CO2 and has an official combined fuel consumption figure of 148mpg. What’s more, no vehicle tax is payable plus it’s exempt from the London congestion charge.

“It’s also eligible for the government’s £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant, and with a Benefit In Kind rate of just 5% it means a virtual pay rise of several thousand pounds a year for company car drivers. In addition, for business owners there are savings on National Insurance contributions, plus the Outlander PHEV qualifies for 100% First Year Allowance against business profits.

“All in all, this makes it a real no-brainer of a vehicle, and we’re extremely pleased to lend one to Bridgend Business Forum, as we are certain that the members will quickly see all the benefits of owning one.”

It was collected from the David Street showroom by forum chairwoman Alison Hoy. She said: “This hybrid car is a real treat to drive and I would urge everyone to take a test drive. It is spacious, responsive and economical. I loved driving this electric hybrid and I believe that electric cars are the future. They are cool, smooth and, best of all, silent.”
