Peugeot has confirmed that it will announce a new franchised partner in Hull after reports that the former JCT600 site had closed “overnight”.

A spokeswoman for the French manufacturer told AM that Peugeot will continue to have a presence in Hull, adding that the process of appointing a new franchise partner were in “the final stages”.

The Hull Daily Mail interviewed local businesses following the closure of the former franchise off Strickland Street earlier this month after suggesting that the facility had closed suddenly.

A spokesman for JCT600 later confirmed that the site had ceased trading on June 30th due to “commercial reasons, adding: “All of our colleagues at Peugeot Hull have been offered new roles at our other dealerships in the area.”

A statement on the JCT600 website stated that any used car warranty or any outstanding customer offers would be honoured and were unaffected by the closure.
