East Anglian dealer EMG Motor Group has submitted plans to move its existing dealership in Spalding to the edge of the town.

The company has detailed plans for a split site operation either side of Elsoms Way in Pinchbeck, close to existing motor dealerships.

The two sites include a four-car showroom, ten-bay service centre, parts department and tyre fitting operation.

Planning documents reference a Rapid Fit centre but do not refer to a franchise. The eight site group currently represents Hyundai from its St John's Road dealership, in addition to being a Ford authorised repairer.

Builders Lindum Group said: "This proposal would therefore ensure that EMG would be able to remain in the district, together with the economic benefits this would bring. The proposed site is a long term vacant site within the commercial area of Wardentree Lane. Given the size of the site and the nature of their business, EMG’s operation has been split onto two sites, although the nature of their business lends itself well to this."

The combined sites are expected to create four additional new jobs.
