Aston Barclay has adopted the new GardX SpinCar technology in its vehicle inspection process.

GardX SpinCar is a new imaging product, which hopes to transform the speed and accuracy for buyers who are searching and locating stock on the Aston Barclay website and its new buyer app.

It gives buyers a 360-degree view of the used car’s exterior and interior with a zoom facility to enable them to take a closer inspection of all parts of the car.

The images and spin are transferred wirelessly to Aston Barclay’s servers and then integrate with its website for buyers to view online.

Internal images are taken by a Ricoh two lens device that quickly captures images of the interior both front and rear from between the front seats.

Aston Barclay’s group IT director, Stewart Ford, said: “We know from experience that high quality images are critical for online and mobile buyers when they are buying remotely.

"Buyers will particularly welcome the zoom facility which enables them to carry out their own detailed due diligence on a car’s condition prior to a sale.

“The investment in our own imaging bays and turntables has made the adoption of SpinCar technology possible and we expect online bids and sales to increase dramatically."

"Look out for more tech initiatives over the coming months as we continue to roll out our digital remarketing strategy,” he added.

SpinCar is live at Westbury and Donington Park on all fleet and dealer inspections and will eventually replace Aston Barclay’s current imaging software across the five-branch network.
