Police are pursuing a pair of teenager joyriders who caused £9,000 of damage when they took a Mercedes-Benz for an illegal joyride around a Sytner dealership forecourt.

Northumbria Police are tracking the two suspects following the incident which happened between 6.20pm on June 25 and 7.15pm on June 26.

The that the pair illegally took a luxury car before taking turns to drive it around the compound, eventually crashing into another car.

Officers were called to the dealership on Scotswood Road, Newcastle, and discovered damage later valued at £9,000, but the offenders had fled the area.

Northumbria Police have since issued the descriptions of two youths who were in the area at the time of the incident.

The first is described as a slim white male believed to be around 15 years old. He was wearing a black tracksuit, grey trainers, green T-shirt and a black jacket with a furred hood.

The other is described as a white male of 15 or 16 years of age with medium length black curly hair. He was wearing a black tracksuit and hoody with red detailing and black trainers.
