Online car buying platform Carwow has launched a video review element to its website after recruiting motoring journalist Mat Watson.

A full-time team of video producers, cameramen and editors are working alongside Watson – a former contributor to Auto Express and Carbuyer – to produce high-quality content for the business’ web-site.

Carwow CEO James Hind said: "Our goal at Carwow has always been twofold – to help customers buy cars as easily as possible, but also to help them pick the models that suit them best. That’s why we’ve always invested heavily in editorial and we’re now adding high-quality video reviews across our site.

"As always, our objective is to give buyers the information they need to buy from dealers as effortlessly as possible and video content is just another way of making sure this process is hassle-free."

Throughout 2016, the team plans to film in-depth consumer reviews of more than 100 cars and make use of 360-degree cameras to give would-be buyers the ability to ride along on a test drive without leaving the house.

The videos will even feature close-up infotainment reviews and overviews of how much can fit in the boot of each car.
