Compact cars dominated the best performers in City Auction Group’s fortnightly sale at the end of July.

The top five best performing vehicles were the Audi A1 2.0 TDI, achieving the highest CAP clean value (104.3%), followed by the Mini Cooper 1.6 Hatchback (104.2%), BMW 116d SE (104.1%), Fiat 500L 1.3 Multijet Pop Star (101.8%) and the Peugeot 208 1.2 VTi Allure (101.2%).

City Auction Group’s auction at the end of July, sold 240 vehicles, with a total value of £1.7 million.

The auction results led the market in the last two weeks of July, with 82% of vehicles achieving an average CAP clean value of 97%. Demand was strong for 13 and 14 plates, small to mid-range vehicles with an average of 20,000 miles. 

City Auction Group has also expanded its sales team with the appointment of Andrew Maddocks, as new business development manager.

Maddocks has joined the group to develop relationships with dealer groups, car supermarkets and independent motor retailers. He has more than 25 years’ experience remarketing vehicles at Manheim Auctions and vehicle purchasing with nationwide car supermarkets. 

Zoe Kennedy also joins as office manager along with Naomi Dickson as auction support.
