Honda's new ZR-V mid-size SUV will be priced from £39,495 when orders open on July 4.

The Civic-based model will compete against best-selling models such as the Nissan Qashqai and Hyundai Tucson.

A single e:HEV hybrid powertrain will be offered, combining a 2.0-litre petrol engine with two electric motors. It develops 183PS and 315Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels.

When driving in an urban environment the vehicle mainly runs in EV Drive, drawing power for its motors from a small battery.
