All-electric 4x4 manufacturer Munro Vehicles, Scotland’s only volume car maker, has disclosed it has secured a two-year customer pipeline worth £68 million.

Its first pre-production model, the white hard top five-seater Series-M Utility, has just left its East Kilbride factory, ten months after Munro unveiled the MK_1 prototype model in Edinburgh.

Munro said the roll-out of the Series-M Utility signifies the next phase in its strategic vision to expand production facilities and workforce to 300 new jobs by 2027 in order to scale-up production to 2,500 vehicles.

The Munro Series-M is an electric-powered, four-wheel-drive workhorse with a state-of-the-art electric powertrain, ensuring zero tailpipe emissions. The vehicle is offered in ‘standard’ M170 170kW and ‘high-power’ M280 280kW guises and in Utility (hard top) and Truck (open-bed) configurations.

Munro said its target customer operates in demanding sectors such as agriculture, construction defence, disaster relief and forestry and will enable them to de-carbonise their 4x4 vehicle fleets, without compromising on off-road performance, practicality, and durability.
