Subaru has previewed its next-generation Impreza and a new Viziv SUV ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of this month.

The new Impreza is expected to be built on a new platform which the brand will use for all of its core models and could be on sale with UK dealers before the end of 2016.

The Viziv is a hybrid and will feature examples of Subaru's autonomous vehicle technology.

Subaru has gone from a 10,000 units a year franchise in the UK in 2001 down to 2,793 units last year. However, Subaru is on track to out do its 2014 performance this year, with a year-to-date figure of 2,734 units.
