Volkswagen has appointed Nithia Pillay as its new group aftersales and customer quality director. 

Pillay will take up the position which was previously occupied by Alison Jones, who moved to take on the role of Volkswagen UK brand director in July, having been with the brand’s global business for 12 years.

He moves to the UK from Kassel, Germany, where he previously led the sales channel development division in Group Aftersales and has a background in sales and aftersales, fleet sales, marketing and parts planning in Volkswagen Group in his native South Africa.

Pillay has previously worked with Shell SA and the South African National Oil Company.

In his new role, he will the Volkswagen Group’s ongoing drive to improve the quality of customer experience as well as overseeing the group’s aftersales services and business, including the trade parts specialists and paint and body networks.

Pillay said: “I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead as the company continues to expand mobility, digital and aftersales offerings.”
