ATS Euromaster is equipping each of its 507 centres across the UK with new technology to enable it to service run flat tyres.

The new service will allow ‘while-you-wait’ repairs without the replacement of a tyre in the event of a typical puncture.

Russell Fleetwood, national car sales director at ATS Euromaster, says: "The growth in run flat tyres has had a massive impact on motorists, enabling drivers with a puncture to continue at a safe speed to the nearest garage, and in doing so avoiding the hassle and danger of changing a tyre at the roadside.

"Until now this had almost always meant purchasing a new tyre on arrival, but this investment enables us to carry out professional repairs to run flat technology tyres, approved by the tyre manufacturers, at a fraction of the cost," he adds.

The run flat repair process involves checking with the customer to ascertain how long the tyre has been in a deflated condition - if it has driven over 50 miles, or exceeded 50mph, then it cannot be repaired.

Average repair time for a run flat is one hour, with prices starting from £9.99.
