Pentagon Group has partnered with Nissan for the first time to fill a four-year open point for the brand.

The Yorkshire dealer group, one of the top 25 in the AM100, opened its new Nissan dealership in Huddersfield this month.

It plans to open a second Nissan outlet in Barnsley.

Managing director Trevor Reeve said: “The future’s looking bright for Nissan and we are looking forward to showing the people of west Yorkshire what an exciting range of cars and vans there is in its range.”

Huddersfield has been an open point for Nissan for more than four years since the demise of the Dixon Group.

This is Pentagon’s first dealership in west Yorkshire and adds £7 million turnover.

Matthew Palmer, general manager of the new site, said: “Having overseen the refurbishment of this superbly located town centre dealership from the start I believe we have made a bold statement, and together with my new team we plan to match this impressive new showroom with equally impressive levels of customer service.”

Planning permission has been granted for the Barnsley business and once work has completed on a new showroom it will begin retailing Nissans towards the end of this year.

Pentagon Group has broadened its business significantly in recent years. It initially focused on the General Motors’ brands Vauxhall and Chevrolet, which still remain its main partners.

Now it also represents Chrysler, Citroën, Fiat, Peugeot, Saab and Subaru.
