Dealers can obtain exclusive new insight into the importance of test drives and the opportunities and risks they pose in a new AM initiative.

With hundreds of thousands of test drives being provided by dealers every year, AM is looking at key aspects of the process and how important they are to customer experiences, particularly the extent to which they increase the likelihood of an eventual sale.

To support the initiative, dealers are invited to complete a short online questionnaire, with just 10 key questions, to provide information about their test drive experiences.

Results from the industry will then be shared in a future print issue of AM and online to help the dealers understand key issues in detail, including:

●Benchmarking the proportion of customers who take test drives

●The typical length of test drive and minimum requirements

●Current levels of manufacturer support

●The role of online booking

●Risk management and customer test drive programmes.
