Digital dealer group Rockar has signed up DCML to use its DCM Connected to provide telematics software for its fleet of demonstrator vehicles and support its shop staff ‘angels’.

The partnership with DCM Connected will cover 120 vehicles at Rockar’s stores at Westfields, Olympic Park and the Bluewater shopping centre, Greenhithe.

DCM Connected’s data feed will transmit directly into Rockar’s interactive UK mapping, available in each store, to generate live mapping of each test drive vehicle on the road.

During and after Rockar’s ‘YouDrive’ test drive programme, the system will deliver in-depth analysis of each car and feedback on driving behaviour, to ensure that Rockar staff can help customers in choosing their car.

The use of DCM Connected will also provide additional security to the demonstrators, tracking their location and mechanical status.

Additional digital accident reconstruction and notification features will help eliminate avoidable cost and minimise risks for the dealership.

Paul Stokes, Rockar managing director, said: “Rockar was founded to rejuvenate the car buying process, giving the customer clarity and choice. DCM Connected empowers both the customer and our Rockar angels by arming them both with detailed mechanical and behavioural feedback.

“As a comprehensive telematics package it has depth, giving us unprecedented visibility over our fleet and allowing us to manage both the vehicles and the inherent risks associated with it.”

Vince Powell, managing director of DCML, added: “Our system has impressed customers as a tool that excels in the modern car buying process.

“The addition of telematics technology has proven vital to our offering. Courtesy cars are now visible when they’re being driven by customers or staff – providing greater information for customers whilst safeguarding businesses and their core assets.”
