Lloyd Motor Group has completed the acquisition of Cleland of the Borders' Galashiels Jaguar site and will relocate the showroom to their Land Rover Kelso dealership.

The family-owned group will bring Jaguar and Land Rover brands under one roof for the first time in the borders, at the Pinnacle Hill site, in-line with Jaguar Land Rover’s Arch Concept corporate identity.

Lloyd Motor Group’s latest acquisition sees its network of dealerships in Northern England and Southern Scotland rise to 22.

Rob Lindsay, franchise director for Lloyd Motors, said that both companies would be working together to ensure a smooth transition through the coming weeks.

Operating centrally from Carlisle, Lloyd Motor Group represents Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW, MINI, Volvo, Honda, BMW Motorrad and Honda Bikes.

In 2015, the group saw turnover rise 15% to £380.4 million from the previous year's £323.3 million and 26% on 2014's £281.7 million.

The group was founded in 1976 and continues to be owned and managed by the Lloyd family.

Together with Lloyd Ltd, they now employ over 1,200 people.
