A new category in the 2022 AM Awards seeks to recognise UK motor retailers which are working hard to improve the diversity and inclusion in their workforce.

The Leader In Diversity And Inclusion Award will champion fantastic examples of the work being done in the automotive retail industry to look after staff in the best possible way and to attract and retain people of all abilities, genders, race and backgrounds who bring the skills and attitudes required by a modern motor retailer.

This new award category is open to franchised and independent car and van retailers only.

Submissions for the AM Award for Leader In Diversity And Inclusion should outline measures taken to implement a D&I policy plus explain some of the actions an entering retailer has taken to promote staff wellbeing and a healthy work/life balance.

"Wellbeing and diversity and inclusion are equally important. For a lot of companies, the two are closely related.

"Bringing them together provides a holistic opportunity to recognise and honour the companies that are looking after their staff in the best possible way by being an inclusive employer that priorities the mental health and wellbeing of their staff," said AM editor Tim Rose.

Recently AM also announced new awards for 2022 focused on rewarding strong performing vehicle repair workshops in the franchised and independent sectors.

In 2022 for the first time, the AM Awards will be held in May and in London.
