Hyundai has revealed the pricing and specification details of its new Ioniq 6 flagship electric vehicle (EV) – with prices starting from £46,745.

Premium and Ultimate trim levels of the streamliner-style saloon car will be offered with a choice of rear and all-wheel-drive and a standard long range 77kWh battery, the Korean carmaker revealed today (December 8).

Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the new model delivers a drag coefficient of just 0.21 to help produce a potential zero emissions driving range of 338 miles.

Commenting on today’s long-awaited publication of specification and pricing details, Hyundai Motor UK managing director Ashley Andrew said “We are pleased to announce full details of the IONIQ 6 range, the latest model from the Ioniq sub brand.

“Ioniq 6 has already captured customer attention, with the First Edition models all reserved within 24 hours and with the comprehensive specification of the Premium and Ultimate trim lines, IONIQ 6 looks set to follow in the footsteps of the Ioniq 5’s success.”

Rear-wheel drive versions of the Ioniq 6 serve-up 228PS and 350Nm to deliver the longest-range potential and 7.4-second acceleration to 62mph alongside a 115mph top speed.

All-wheel drive variants can deploy 325PS and 605Nm to deliver a slightly reduced 322 range claims and the potential to reach the same acceleration benchmark in 5.1 seconds.

Ioniq 6 will be Hyundai’s first model to offer an Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates to ensure their vehicle is running the most recent updates to various vehicle control units for electric devices, driving assist functions, high voltage battery operation and more, Hyundai said.

Starting from £46,745, the Premium trim features 20-inch alloys, front and rear LED lighting, heated front and rear seats and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Ultimate (from £50,245) adds flush fitting door handles, a sunroof, blind spot monitor, drivers head-up-display, surround view monitor, remote smart parking, and BOSE premium audio system.

It also features Active Sound Design (e-ASD) to give the Ioniq 6 a “unique and defining sound under acceleration”, Hyundai clams.

IONIQ 6 Premium and Ultimate models are available in a choice of 11 colours. Byte Blue Pearl is a no cost option, with all other pearl and metallic finishes a £585 option, with matte finishes a £685 option.
