Ford has announced the addition of a new Euro IV emissions compatible version of the 2.2-litre, 153bhp Duratorq TDCi engine for its Mondeo model.

Ford's 2.2-litre engine is also available to order in all Zetec models as well as Ghia, Ghia X, Titanium, Titanium X and ST.

All versions of the Mondeo Duratorq TDCi 128bhp and TDCi 113bhp Euro IV engines cost the same as the Euro III versions had cost. Euro III engines are now available at new lower prices.

New to the Mondeo range is Ford's 88bhp TDCi Euro IV common rail engine. Available on LX models, the 88bhp engine is available at £16,300 on-the-road.

Ford has also announced it is lowering prices across the range from LX to Titanium X (excluding ST models). With reductions ranging from up to £595 on the entry level Mondeo LX, and up to £995 on Ghia X/Titanium X models.

Customers can now choose between a Zetec 143bhp petrol engine from £17,300 on the road or a Zetec 2.0 TDCi 113bhp common rail Euro IV from £17,800 RRP on the road. The equivalent Ghia/Titanium models with extra product, features, adds a further £1,000.

The special edition Mondeo Silver is to be continued due to high customer demand. Mondeo Silver is available from £15,680 RRP on-the-road.
