The three remaining finalists in the Top Technician 2007 competition have been announced in the search to find the UK’s best garage mechanic.

The trio will now go forward to an awards ceremony, which takes place at the Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire on June 11, to find out the ultimate winner.

The winner will receive £2,000 in cash and sponsor prizes. The three technicians in the running for the title are (in alphabetical order): Clive Atthowe of Clive Atthowe Tuning in Norwich; David Wagstaff of DC Mardles Motor Engineer in Exeter and Elliot Waters of Dick Lovett Ferrari Maserati in Swindon.

The live finals of Top Technician 2007, were held at the Automotive Trade Show at the NEC in Birmingham last week. Twelve finalists competed in four practical challenges and were judged by Bosch trainers Eddie Kapps and Stephen Waters, Ian Gillgrass of the IMI and Mark Softley of MototeK.

Each finalist had already scored highly on two question papers and achieved at least diagnostic level Automotive Technician Accreditation to reach the finals.
