Rescued car sharing club Whizzgo Europe will continue to have its cars supplied by Citroën UK.

Under the original deal with Citroën, Whizzgo agreed to buy 120 1.4-litre C3 Desire models a year, each on a three-year, 30,000 miles HSBC Vehicle Leasing contract hire agreement.

Whizzgo went into administration in August after a funding crisis, but was bought by new investors and relaunched as Whizzgo Europe, still headed by original founder Charlotte Morton.

It was previously unclear as to whether the cash flow problems would affect its car supply agreement with Citroën. But a spokesman for Citroën said: “As far as we’re concerned, it’s business as usual.”

Since its founding in 2004, WhizzGo has been a solus Citroën operator, and now has more than 200 Citroëns, which include
the C8, Berlingo Multispace and Xsara Picasso, as well as the C3.

The car sharing business, which allows city residents to book occasional use of a car, has operations in 14 UK cities and is looking to expand into others.

In March 2007 it showed an operating loss of £486,522 from £283,576 turnover.
