From October 1 the new director of Audi UK is to be André Konsbruck, who succeeds Martin Sander.

A Luxembourger by birth, Konsbruck, is a senior broad spectrum expert on sales, marketing, network development and aftersales, Audi said.

He began his Audi career in 1992 and since 2005 he has held the role of executive director for the overseas region, based at the brand’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany, and reporting to the board member for sales and marketing.

Konsbruck said: “The UK already ranks as the fourth largest market worldwide for Audi, and its sales are still rising. As our range expands, and our brand image continues to strengthen, I really look forward to continuing the excellent work undertaken by Martin in collaboration with our Audi partners to realise our ambition of premium sector leadership in the UK.”

During almost two years as Audi UK director, Sander presided over a further steep ascent of Audi sales, which at the mid-year point in 2013 stood at 74,000 cars – a record figure for the importer.

Sander steps up to the role of senior director of sales Americas based at the company’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany.
