Finance providers are also vital in supporting dealers through an advocacy process. By working with their dealer partners through the finance settlement or in identifying points of parity between the loan or PCP and the car’s retained value, finance providers can notify the dealer of an opportunity to invite the customer into the showroom to trade in that car against a new model, often at a point when they are not aware they could do so.

“That enables us to introduce them back into the dealer network, helps the dealer sell another car, and improves the customer experience because we can guarantee them funds before they happily go into the sales process again,” said John Simpson, Moneyway managing director.
