Kia has expanded its EV6 line-up with the introduction of a new entry-level model, the EV6 Air standard range, priced from £39,235 on-the-road.
Equipped with a 63kWh battery, the rear-wheel-drive EV6 ‘Air’ standard range offers up to 265 miles of range on the WLTP combined cycle with a 0-62mph time of 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 115mph.
A reduced kerb weight (1,955kg) and insurance group rating (29E) further improve affordability.
Despite the smaller battery, the new model retains the EV6’s high-voltage 800V charging system, enabling ultra-rapid charging from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes via a 350kW DC charger - or 58 minutes using a 50kW charger.
The car also provides a 490-litre boot and a 52-litre front trunk, and can tow up to 750kg (braked).
Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, heated front seats and steering wheel, Smart Cruise Control with stop/go, dual 12.3-inch curved displays with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and seven years of free Kia Connect services.
Order books for the EV6 ‘Air’ standard range are open now, with first deliveries expected later in May. The model comes with Kia’s comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty, including 8-year/100,000-mile coverage for the EV battery and motor.
