Caffyns has updated its IT and communications infrastructure across all 29 dealerships.

Previously the group had separate communications systems in each branch, meaning phone and email had to be managed and run individually.

Christopher Fullalove, director of IT at Caffyns, says: “We wanted one network covering all of our branches that would encompass all of our communications requirements.”

Impetus and NetServices were hired to provide a solution in the form of a wide area network (WAN). Application servers are now hosted in the NetServices datacentre, which also eliminates the need for an internal firewall.

Looking to the future, Caffyn’s has the opportunity to further improve its communications by installing NetServices’ converged voice and data offering.

Last month Caffyn’s announced it was closing its Vauxhall dealership in East Grinstead, Surrey.
