After a year where Maserati gained a foothold in the UK fleet sector with its first diesel engined models, it is expected to boost its presence in the corporate sector further with a new large SUV.

The Levante will be offered with the same 3.0-litre V6 diesel as the Ghibli and Quattroporte, and while we might get a glimpse of the new model in the second half of the year, sales are not expected to begin until 2016.

Initially it was believed that the Levante would share a platform with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, nit the iconic 4x4 brand under Italian ownership with Fiat. But it now seems likely that the SUV will use an adapted Quattroporte platform.
