Our client, a franchised dealership in the CM postcode area of Hertfordshire/Essex is currently recruiting for a Smart Repair Technician to join their busy bodyshop team. The basic salary on offer is £25k - £30k DOE, plus bonus taking your potential earnings to £45k.
Role responsibilities:
- To examine vehicles to identify additional work for repair, liaising with the Service Manager to obtain permission to proceed
- To carry out wheel refurbishments
- To carry out cosmetic paint repairs
- To carry out seat fabric repairs
- To carry out minor dent removals
- To clearly document all work performed ensuring that times are recorded accurately and within agreed timeframes
- To take care of vehicles whilst being worked on
- To adhere to health and safety requirements and maintain a tidy workstation
Who you need to be
- You must have excellent communication skills to communicate credibly with our customers, colleagues and senior management
- You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment recognising individual responsibility to contribute to the performance and success of the team. You will have an understanding of the needs of others and a willingness to go the extra mile
- You will have the ability to keep up-to-date with complex information, proven selling skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills
- You will be good with administration, diary management and following up within agreed timeframes
- You will be able to develop rapport and trust with customers and to resolve conflict situations calmly and reasonably
- You will have a passion for customer service, have a process orientated approach and be professional and well presented
Your experience
- You will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the industry, working on basic and complex small to medium repairs
- You must be apprentice-trained and qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanical, Maintenance & Repair or NVQ equivalent. You will ideally have at least two years’ experience of working in a franchised dealership since completing your apprenticeship
- You will have good IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel to an intermediate level
- You will have a valid clean UK Driving Licence
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 5.30pm 1 hour for lunch, 1 in 3 Saturdays 8.30am - 12.30pm
