About the role
This is an exciting time to be joining our team based in Southampton and being involved in supporting the port activities as CPS Car Park Marshal (Days). The CPS Compound Marshal (Nights) will ensure that cars are released and parked up safely.
This is a flexible opportunity and you may be requested to week-ends and bank holidays shifts.
Your daily responsibilities will consist of:
* To fully support, and work closely with the Head Car Park Marshall/Compound Marshals.
* Liaise and meet with Head car park Marshal to know what and where vehicles are being moved to.
* Key up customer vehicles ready for moving.
* To start vehicles with flat batteries or inflate tyres where necessary.
* Car drive if required.
* Make sure that all car drivers are released safely.
* Direct car drivers to the correct compound area
* Marshall car drivers either into layout spaces or into block stow location.
* Collect keys up once vehicles are parked and mark key tags accordingly.
* Make sure all keys are dry before hanging on the keyboard once reconciled either leave them for the ship the following day or box the keys up prior to going into safes.
* To keep/ensure that the highest of standards are maintained with regards to the handling of customers vehicles.
* To ensure that all company equipment, specific to the CPS operation is kept maintained, and serviceable.
* To be flexible and fully support the Companies, business, aims and objectives.
* To ensure that the companies H&S policy, and procedures are strictly adhered to at all times, by maintaining and instilling in others, a safe working environment.
* Maintain the companies, quality process and compliance standards / procedures.
* Maintain excellent communications with customers, Managers, and your teams, at all times.
* To maintain a clean and safe working environment by encouraging good ‘house-keeping.
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
* Be at least 21 years old.
* Have a full driving licence.
* Have a minimum of 12 months can driving experience (in order to comply with our insurance) with no more than 6 points on the driving licence and no drink driving disqualifications.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Smart appearance.
Successful candidates will be expected to attend Health and Safety Induction and a car driving assessment. You will be subject to Identification checks, referencing and DVLA checks.
