Prime Minister, Tony Blair gave his endorsement to the new Range Rover at a special preview of the vehicle at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham, where he was accompanied by Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt. They were shown the new vehicle by Land Rover's managing director, Bob Dover.

"Land Rover is a great British success story producing vehicles recognised the world over. I'm sure this new vehicle will build on that reputation and is great news for the West Midlands,” said Mr Blair.

The new Range Rover - the result of a £1 billion investment programme - goes on sale on Februarty 15 and is being built at a new production facility at Land Rover's Solihull plant. (November 26, 2001)
