Motor insurance specialists, ASA Insurance, has completed the initial stage of its launch in Northern Ireland.

More than 80 dealers from a wide range of franchises and locations have now joined the scheme within weeks of the first presentation meeting in Belfast, held by ASA's Rob Chamberlain.

Mr Chamberlain said: "Traditionally Northern Ireland has been an area where insurance has caused all sorts of problems.

"When you combine that history with the fact that insurers having previously lost so much money on free insurance schemes, ASA's progress in Northern Ireland is a real success for this Northampton-based firm.

Currently underwritten by AXA, the scheme provides a dealership-based quote engine allowing the dealership sales staff to give insurance quotes at the point of sale and arrange immediate cover for up to three years.

With the ability to fix the cost of their insurance at today's prices, customers are, ASA Insurance says, as keen to receive a quote in Northern Ireland as they are at the 1,300 UK dealerships currently using the ASA scheme.

Dealerships earn a £300 commission per multi-year they sell.
