Used car retailers have access to a wider customer base after internet search engine Lycos UK launched a stock locator and valuation guide on its motoring channel.

The new facilities, available via www.lycos.co.uk, are provided by Glass's Information Services. They enable users to search for a used car, obtain a part-exchange valuation and get whole life running costs of a chosen vehicle. Information is driven by Glass's Trader Desk, which advertises dealers' stock.

Mike Paterson, Glass's Information Services sales consultant, said: “Lycos UK represents a large group of regular internet users and its requirements for this user base and commitment to providing proactive and valuable services is vital in helping Glass's shape its own developments for the consumer marketplace.”

Vauxhall Network Q retailers can now source cars older than five years and 60,000 miles after guidelines changed. They are also offering free MOT insurance on cars that will require a test within 12 months of the sale date.
