Independent vehicle inspection service, Used Car Checks is offering tailored packages for the motor trade as Used Car Checks Inspected. The firm is estimating it will check between 10,000 and 20,000 cars a year in its first two years, and eventually expects to be inspecting up to 1000 a week.

The service will be the same as the inspection that is offered to retail customers, which is a 140-point inspection carried out on a hydraulic ramp at an accredited garage. The inspection also comes with a 45-day warranty provided by Warranty Direct. “The trade will have a very cost-effective and comprehensive independently inspected used vehicle,” says James Ruppert, managing director of Used Car Checks.

“That has an instant appeal to their customers and makes their stock more saleable. The workshop inspection is a major USP.

“Good dealers already have their stock pre sale checked and opting for a Used Car Checks inspected package is easy and cost effective with a tailor made warranty package too. We offer a great value for money package, much cheaper than our major rivals.”

The inspection costs £99 inclusive of VAT and Used Car Checks claims trade demand is strong.

“We have a lot of interest from Unipart Car Care Centres who are already offering the scheme to their contacts,” he says.

“Independent traders have already been using the service on high performance cars to reassure their customers. We see no reason why we could not be checking hundreds of cars specifically for the trade every week.”
